General Appearance;
Yuiko is really tall and developed for her age. She stands at 168 cm, weighing 46 kg, with a bust of 95 cm. She is very thin and usually stands up rather straight. Her hair is pink and is kept short with the exception of two pig tails that extend to near her waist. In addition she has a pair of pink ears and a small puppy like tail that is pink as well.
Physical Mannerisms;
Yuiko usually bounces around from place to place with a pretty lively step. If excited her hands will usually be in the air, though she has a habit of crossing them behind her back as well. When upset or in trouble she tends to slouch and try to make herself smaller.
Verbal Mannerisms;
Yuiko has to be careful when talking otherwise she's likely to slip into speaking in third person without realizing it. She has been trying to stop since meeting Ritsuka and can usually avoid doing it. When surprised, caught off guard, or nervous she stammers. She's generally loud and cheerful though.
Fashion;
Yuiko seems to enjoy skirts with long socks, or jeans with a mid-drift. She seems to be pretty fashionable and doesn't mind wearing clothes that compliment her body.
Personality;
When Yuiko is introduced she appears on the surface to be a very simple and straightforward girl from class 6-3. She is friendly with all of the girls in the class, and is easily manipulated and tricked by them into whatever they want. She is shown to carry their bags and do anything they ask without questioning them. Still during times before or between classes she is briefly shown sitting on her own working while the others are grouped together and chatting. When it comes to pairing up she is also the odd girl out, being excluded by the others. She states that she doesn't read, and often refers to herself in the third person. Still she is shown to be very kind as well as thoughtful of others going so far as to apologize to Yayoi when rejecting him, and telling Ritsuka that it's natural to be nice to the new kid.

Yuiko is a very emotional creature in the fact that she always wears her heart on her sleeve, whether it is smiling and laughing or breaking down into tears in the middle of class. It is clear to all those around her exactly what she is feeling, though she is easily swayed in her emotions by the actions of others. A majority of the time she can be found smiling with a pleasant and happy disposition. When hurt she cries loudly and without hesitation, tears which last a good bit longer than the situation that caused them. Her personality is one that is very passive and submissive of others, she will rarely if ever stand up for herself or acts assertive. At the same time she maintains a hopeful demeanor and cares very deeply about her friends.

It is revealed that Yuiko is a latch-key kid, meaning that when she returns home from school she is usually alone until late in the evening when her parents return from working. And while she seems to be very close to them and has a loving family there are a lot of times that she is left on her own, or a lot of opportunities that are passed up due to their busy schedule; such as her father not showing up for parents day. Because of this there is a part of Yuiko that hates being lonely and that sympathizes with others who may be feeling lonely. It's also why she hates that feeling and most likely reaches out to as many people as she possibly can, not minding if she's used by them or not. Despite this though she does enjoy every moment that she gets to spend with her family, making the most of the holidays that her father gets off from work and spending time with her mother doing things like making Jam. She has a close and loving relationship with her parents when they're there, this can be seen by how lively and cheerful she was while talking to Ritsuka after they had gone picking strawberries for the first time in two years. Also evident in the fact that she cries for her mom when the other girls pour the jam down the sink. Her taste in food seems to reflect this as she enjoys convenience store foods such as 7-11 burritos, cheesecake and pudding. It's also a habit for her when she is going home to stop by for food as she's not permitted to use the kitchen when home alone.

With the appearance of Ritsuka though, Yuiko begins to change gradually. Rather than hanging out with her other 'friends' she spends a lot more time with Ritsuka, preferring to be with him and always pairing up with him when the class splits. She also begins to read more and has worked on becoming smarter and better. Still even in his absence Yuiko is actually rather sharp and smart when she wants to be. She can often come up with very inspirational and mature things at the right time or solve problems quickly; she can even manipulate others to ensure she wins every-time at rock, paper, and scissors. Though she still doesn't make good grades as she hates to study, and doesn't perform as well academically, and unlike Ritsuka and the Zero's doesn't have a natural talent for making high marks.

From the first day that she met Ritsuka, she thought that he was cool and wanted to be his friends. However, as he supported her, protected her, included her, she came to like him more and more. The feelings progressing to a point that Yuiko claims that she is willing to do anything for Ritsuka, even die. Her crush for him continues to grow as she spends more and more time with him, though it's become obvious that it's just one sided so she tries not to force it on Ritsuka. Each time that she finds something she wants to share it with Ritsuka, having no problem sharing her food or drinks with him as well as making handmade gifts for him; such as the scarf in chapter 90. To her seeing Ritsuka laugh or smile is one of the best things in the world and makes her feel wonderful, and in the moments when he is angry or raising she becomes scared or saddened. No matter what though she thinks of him, worries about him, and wants him to be happy and healthy. Yuiko loves Ritsuka. For him she does anything he asks and would follow him anywhere that he would allow. In those times when he is gone, for Yuiko the class room and the world become a big empty space and she worries constantly about what's wrong. She wants to get to know him more and to get closer though she realizes that there is still so much about him that she doesn't know.

Yuiko lives to befriend and be with others, and gradually Ritsuka is becoming the one that she lives for more and more. She has an innocent and caring heart, and while she is not the smartest of children she is one of the most caring.
